Borealis

Borealis have years of experience and know instinctively what music works in the context of your type of event. Borealis is equally at home in a recital format or as a musical easy listening backdrop to your occasion.

Borealis present a very varied musical programme these days, but the band was originally formed in 2005 to specifically present the songs of Robert Burns in an accessible, colourful, easy listening style. The band members have very different music backgrounds ranging through classical, folk, jazz, pop ... and the pulling together of these resources has been a key element in the band’s success with their Burns’ repertoire. Their approach to Burns’ songs is sophisticated, engaging and challenges the notions of ‘tradition’ as regards how the songs are performed. The band is encouraged that so many of their audience and those who have listened to the CD ‘Borealis, the songs of Robert Burns...in colour’ have embraced this refreshing new look at the songs of Burns. Their audience’s reaction is testimony enough that Borealis has achieved what it set out to do:

... find a fitting tribute to the

‘Scottish Bard.’

The video footage on this website is mostly taken from an evening at Oswald Hall Auchincruive (above) in May 2010. Here you see Borealis in a ‘recital’ format ... a ‘listening’ event as such. Classy after dinner entertainment for an anniversary/birthday party when the guests feel like relaxing with some first class entertainment.

... or how about on that most special of days... Classy, live music while your wedding guests enjoy their meal / wedding breakfast. Excellent!
